I ran almost 4 outside before realizing I was again to chicken to run alone in the dark. I went about 1/2 mile down river bottom road and something said turn around so I did :) I ran home and went to the gym and did 2 miles with Lily on the TM.
6 pm miles w/ Lynsey. It was hot and we were only going for 5, but the route ended up being 6. That's ok we had some teenage boys drive by and tell us we were hot. So glad we're almost twice thier age :)
Ran to the gym this morning w/ Lily then I jumped into tae bo class for an hour while she did the elliptical and then we ran home. I was dragging so bad on the way home. I was definitely tired!!!
5 miles w/ Lynsey today. Feeling a little sore from tae bo yesterday, but otherwise we had a good run at a good pace. Not exactly sure on the pace right now, but I'll plug my watch in later :P
No run today. Maybe some type of cross training. I am doing a triathlon this weekend...ok ok I'm not doing the whole thing I'm on a team and I'm doing the run section. :) Anywho I decided to take today off and run 7-8 w/ Lily & Lyns tomorrow and then tri time Saturday.
Met lyns & lily for 7 - don't think Lyns was too excited about waking up this morning. she finally came around though :) We ran 2 miles to the SF jr high, then ran the SF memorial day 5k route and ran 2 home. (splits: 8.13, 8.32 (somewhat uphill), 7.50 (somewhat downhill), 8.17, 7.58, 7.51, 8.04
added 1 cool down mile 8.01
Should somehow find a way to squeeze in one more mile to be in the double dig's today.
No more tri for me tomorrow. Our super speedy swimmer had to back out, so I am thinking about going to Provo canyon and running up a ways then running down w/ the 1/2 marathon racers...
So my neighbor Chad somehow talked me into running the Mapleton Half last night around 6pm. (I guess I got in the double digits today after all) I called the race director and she said I could register at Jolley's campground, so I decided I'd give it a try. My husband seemed to be really pushing for me to run this race for some reason. I think maybe he wanted me around in the morning? Still not sure why, but I'm glad I did b/c it was a blast!
The name of the game for the Moonlight Half was to come in 1st right after midnight. Not a fan of that really. I would prefer everyone starting at the same time, but what can you do? :) I started at 10 pm and came in at 11:45.
Here are my splits:
Mile 1 - 7.40
2 - 7.38
3 - 7.30
4 - 7.56
5 - 7.29
6 - 7.37
7 - 7.45
8 - 8.08 - Started to lose some steam :) and this is where we left the canyon and started running around town.
9 - 8.16
10 - 8.25
11 - 8.27 - really lost some steam I guess
12 - 8.06 - felt pretty good the last 2 miles.
13 - 7.58
I had to take one potty break and I got lost one time. Luckily it was a dead end so I knew I was going the wrong way. The post race food was the best! And it really was a lot of fun seeing all these crazy people w/ flashing glowsticks running w/ the full moon. Luckily I didn't see any werewolves. Although if I were to see a werewolf I would hope it would be Taylor Lautner.
8 miles w/ lynsey this morning. My garmin died at 2.5, so we just kind of guessed at it. We were shooting for 9, but I think 8 is good. My legs were feeling a little dead from Friday. :)
5 miles today w/ my newly loaded ipod. it was worth the wait, I had Leandra load it up for me. such good running tunes. i'm lucky my shuffle wasn't stolen w/ all of the rest of leandra's goods.
6.5 biking miles. I rode my bike w/ two heavy kids in the trailer to drop off some water for the 10 mile run w/ lynsey tomorrow. I think the bike to run conversion is 1 mile = 3 biking miles? so I'm gonna say 2 miles :)
Only had time to run 3 today. My husband also needed to run this morning and I am leaving at 7:15 for Education week. So I hope to get maybe 2 more tonight. If not then I'll have a longer run tomorrow! :)
Also my gym membership is done and I am not sure if I want to try to buy someone's contract or just take the $19/mo I was spending on it and buying a new piece of exercise equipment each month instead. What do you think? During the summer I rarely go to the gym, but during the winter it seemed to be my life...
I ran 3 today with Chizelwizel. It's always GREAT to have someone to run with. If I know no one is going to be waiting for me I will usually go back to beddy-bye. :)
Then I ran 2 more solo.
And again Education Week has been a blast. I'm looking forward to doing women's conference.
ha ha this picture just reminded me of one of Jay Leno's headlines from back in the day....
Parked my car at the hobble creek golf course today and ran 3 miles, then found Leandra and finished the rest of her 1/2 with her. :) more info later..maybe
*More Info*
so my original plan was to meet Leandra at mile 7. but I found some people that told me the race started 30 minutes late! So I decided to just start running up until I met Leandra. It was actually way cool b/c I got to see the leaders of the pack. And I got to cheer on a lot of familiar faces! Saw Mary Ann, Tyler S, Josse, Lynsey & Kellie S and then found Lani soon after that. We had some good times talking, and then I realized she wasn't really talking it was just me, so then I wasn't sure if I was bothering her, so I told her I wouldn't feel bad if she put her ear phones back in. :)
It was pretty hot towards the end. And I also think they need more portapotties, especially when you get into town. But of course I still loved it, Hobble Creek was my favorite run last year and to be able to run w/ Lani was pretty cool. She beat all goals she set for herself! And Lynsey did awesome!!! I can't believe how fast your are girf!!!
8 miles total today. met lily at 6am ran until 6:30 picked up Lynsey, ran until 7 and dropped off lily and we ran 2 more miles. worked out quite nicely I thought. :) happy monday monday monday
4 miles w/ Lynsey. She unfortunately had to listen to me unload on my pathetic day. :( sorry, but thanks for listening! Of course she had no choice, but she still listened.
I wanted to run 20 today, but I didn't get a hold of Josse in time to see when and where she and mackenzie were going. woke up w/ a head ache and to total darkness. I knew I had to start at 5am and be back by 8am b/c my hubby had an EQ softball game he was in charge of and had to go to. so I just went back to bed.
my mom showed up at 8:30 for by brother's baby blessing which was at 4. Mean while I was preparing a talk for Sunday. Went to the blessing, waited for my brother to come pick up my mom, made dinner etc etc prepared the talk and by the time I went to bed it was late and I felt like I had a busy day and yet got nothing accomplished.
I don't think i'll do top of utah anymore...A. b/c I haven't trained for it, 2. b/c it's now $85 D. Wes will be in school for fools and I would have to find a sitter. 4 I would need to buy new shoes (which is not a bad thing :) b/c I love new shoes) but it's all about the money money money MONEY (apprentice theme music)
Ran w/ Lily & Lyns again. Did the river trail loop twice.
~ a more exciting post below ~
planned on meeting lily at 6am. came outside at 5:55 and heard a child's voice. freaked me out. what kind of kid is awake and outside at 5:55? looked down and saw it was Crystal and her 5 year old son going for a walk. I didn't say hi b/c I did not want to scare them, and they went on their way. Met Lily and went on river trail then past kamrie's elementary school where we saw crystal and collin again, this time said hi and collin asked his mom if he could go with us. :) we ran back to our houses to wait for lyns. We were early so we did a figure 8 in our neighborhood blocks. Lyns came out and we picked up the pace a bit. Did the full river trail loop and dropped of Lily then added 1.5 so Lyns could get 5 miles today. Lynsey and I decided we are going to try to do more speed work. Or at least try for the last mile or two to really pick up the speed.
