...more info to come
Okey dokey here we go. I like this race b/c it's small and b/c my sisters do it too. :) So myself and 4 of my sisters ran. I did the 10k and they did the 5k. This was definitely my slowest race ever. ;( But I blame it on lack of running the past few weeks, increased candy intake & little sleep. My poor nephew had to go to the ER the night before the race and anywho it was a rough night. So I started out with the top 2 ladies. Buy my lungs just didn't want to go any faster. They were starting to burn on the 1st mile and the 1st two miles are mostly uphill. So 1 & 2 girls slowly distanced themselves from me. Then another girl passed me, but inside I knew all a long I could beat her. So I let her take the lead and feel the pressure and at mile 5 passed her and never looked back. :) So I ended up with 3rd overall and 2nd in my age group.
The mile markers and my garmin never matched up. So here's the splits from my garmin. Nothing seems to match up but that's cool. mile 1-7.07 2 -7.44 3 -7.26 4 -7.41 5 -7.12 6 - 7.02
So not my best race, and I didn't feel that great, but there you go anyway. I got the worst head ache later that day too. ugh headaches suck PS my little sister lani too 1st in her ag in the 5k!!! Pictures get your pictures: Driving to race: Me, Leandra & Deedra
Deedra (middle sister), Merri (the favorite sister), Leandra (youngest sister), Rebecca (oldest sister there) & Annette (2nd oldest seeestar there)
I didn't even know someone was taking my picture.
Starting out, see that form. And girl in the middle there is the one I passed at mile 5.
Finishing strong and passing girf.
My sweet medal
