5 w/ sue to gym & back. worked biceps & abs. on a scary note Sue could have easily been hit by a car today. the crazy thing is that we both had reflective vests on, she had her flash light & we were in a cross walk. so be careful.

What? Weird. That is scary. Did they like slam on their brakes when they realized she was there or did she have to stop to miss them?

this is how it went down. We were going to cross the cross walk and a car came to a rolling stop a little into the cross walk. We thought she was stopping for us, but once sue went out I realized she was only stopping to look left and turn right without looking right. I think me yelling Sue's name startled her and maybe the driver then noticed sue & hit her brakes.

You're like a guardian angel Merri. We all need a Merri to run with.

YIKES! I hate it when that happens! All too often if you ask me. Drivers rarely look right when turning right - especially in the wee hours of the morning. I always try to make eye contact before going in front of them - or I stop. I'm glad you are both okay!

actually I was thinking I'm a pretty crummy friend I just let Susan run out in front of the car...I should have dove in front of her and let the car hit me.

Yes. A good friend would allow herself to be crushed first right before her friend gets flattened.

You two need too quit being so ambitious and start sleeping in like me. :) Then you wont have to worry about being hit by a car.
Seriously that is scary though. I would die without Sue!

It was the first time I have heard Merri's voice squeek. No seriously you probably saved me Merri by calling my name and alerting the driver to my vest and flashlight. And to think that someone made fun of us at the gym two days ago for looking like crossing guards! You never can be too careful. But on second thought that would have gotten me out of this marathon business...

mainly I am in awe of the arm workouts. I have started weights twice this summer and always stop after the third time....for no real reason then I forget and I KNOW IT TOTALLY HELPS WITH form. And then I read about all you gals getting all buff and strong and I think "too late now" the marathon is in 4 days...but apparently not here you are still going at it!!! YAY YOU!!!

scary. i'm glad you are both okay. i carry rotten eggs when i run so i can let those inattentive drivers know what rotten eggs smell like.
