What is 50 min. tempo?

From Leandra on Mon, Jun 15, 2009 at 11:48:40 from 67.41.188.212

YES, YES, and MORE YES! Can't wait to watch you run away from me on Saturday :) And I can come to SF to. I realized it's fine if I drive somewhere to run. I have to stop being such a sissy.

And is speedy spaniard a half or 10k?

From Leandra on Mon, Jun 15, 2009 at 11:49:29 from 67.41.188.212

please do 4th 10k with me. Remember how fun it was last year? E.D.?

Leandra - the speedy span is a 10k. And it's way more fun than the 4th of july one. :) But I might do both.

Lynsey - A tempo run is a continuous run with a buildup in the middle to near 10-K race pace.("near," not "at.") A Tempo Run of 30 to 40 minutes would begin with 10-15 minutes easy running, building to peak pace for 10-20 minutes near the middle, then 5-10 minutes easy toward the end. The pace buildup should be gradual, not sudden, with peak speed coming about two-thirds into the workout. (I took this off of HalHigdon.com) :)
