This is my 4th year doing the speedy spaniard, and I really love this race/course. Warmed up with Lily, Susan & Melissa for 1 mile. Susan and I had talked about trying for 7 on the first 6:30 on the 2nd and 6:45's for the rest. We followed behind & side by side with Lily & Rachel G. for a couple miles. I took water at both water stops I think that helped. We lost Susan b/c of stomach cramps and Rachel wasn't feeling that great either. Lily & ran together and I told her I wanted to catch this girl w/ the white tank top. Mile 5 is when I tried to get her & I did catch her, but unfortunately she didn't want to be caught so she kicked it up a notch and I was probably 2 seconds behind. However I did PR!! Susan and I did a 3 mile cool down after. I got $15 for being the 3rd place spanish fork woman. woohooo I made $3 on the race. Great job to all my friends who ran!
